KL Rahul delivered a match-winning performance to guide Delhi Capitals to a seven-wicket victory over Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, while also moving to the top of the tournament’s run-scoring charts. Reflecting on his performance, Rahul said personal milestones are most meaningful when they contribute to team success.
The experienced batter, who has been Delhi’s most reliable performer this season, scored a fluent 75 off 40 balls, hitting six boundaries and five sixes. His innings helped Delhi chase down a challenging target of 226 runs, their highest successful run chase in IPL history, and end a three-match losing streak.
Despite enjoying a strong season that includes three half-centuries and a century, Rahul emphasised that individual achievements feel incomplete without a win. The player recalled his earlier unbeaten 152 against the Punjab Kings, which, although widely praised, came in a losing cause.

KL Rahul noted that his improved form this season stems from focusing on maintaining a higher strike rate to meet the evolving demands of Twenty20 cricket.
The player also acknowledged that Delhi had previously faltered in crucial moments, stressing the importance of capitalising on opportunities and closing out games effectively in a format that offers little room for error.
Delhi’s performance was further strengthened by the return of Mitchell Starc, who made an immediate impact by taking three wickets in his first match of the season after recovering from elbow and shoulder injuries.
Currently placed sixth in the standings, Delhi Capitals will next face Chennai Super Kings as they look to build on this momentum.
