Seoul: BTS has officially kicked off its global ‘ARIRANG’ concert tour in the South Korean city of Goyang, following the massive success of its comeback single, which topped charts worldwide.

The tour begins with three sold-out performances in Goyang on April 9, 11, and 12, before expanding to 34 cities across the globe, setting a new record for the highest number of tour stops by a K-pop act.

According to the group’s management agency, tickets for the opening shows sold out during pre-sale, while concerts across South Korea, North America, and Europe were snapped up within hours of both pre-sale and general release, reflecting overwhelming demand from fans.

The tour follows BTS’s return from a hiatus that began in 2022, during which all seven members completed their mandatory military service by mid-2025. The group reunited to release its fifth studio album, ARIRANG, in March.

The album achieved historic success, topping the Billboard 200 chart for two consecutive weeks, the first time a K-pop act has reached that milestone. Its lead single, ‘Swim,’ debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 before slipping to No. 2 in the following week.

Industry analysts expect the tour to generate massive revenues, with projections estimating earnings of up to 2.7 trillion won (approximately $1.81 billion). This figure excludes additional spending by fans traveling to attend concerts, which is also expected to significantly boost local economies.

The ‘ARIRANG’ tour will feature an immersive 360-degree stage design, enhancing the live concert experience for audiences around the world.
