Dubai: The inaugural Global AI Show and Global Blockchain Show wrapped up on April 16 and 17, 2024, at the Grand Hyatt in Dubai, having persevered despite the heavy rainfall that led to the cancellation of other events in the city. Organized by VAP Group, the events attracted thousands of attendees and featured the launch of two digital media subsidiaries, Times of AI and Times of Blockchain, to foster advancements in their respective fields.

The Global AI Show highlighted transformative AI technologies with sessions from experts like Jamie Metzl on AI, genetics, and biotechnology, and Dr. Divya Chander on brain-machine interface systems. Meanwhile, the Global Blockchain Show brought together web3 experts, with notable talks from H.E. Justin Sun, founder of TRON, and Dr. Marwan Alzarouni, CEO of Dubai Blockchain Center, discussing the future of digital ecosystems and decentralized technologies.

Sophia, the world’s first AI-humanoid robot, served as the Official Ambassador, adding a unique perspective to the potential of AI and web3 technologies. The events also included a start-up village and the launch of the VAP Accelerator to support emerging innovators.

Highlighting the achievements in the field, the Global Blockchain Awards and Global AI Awards recognized leading contributors, with Neoki winning Best Visionary in Crypto of the Year and Binance securing Best Exchange of the Year. The UAE’s Minister of State for AI, H.E. Omar Sultan Al Olama, and Rashed AlSuwaidi were honored for their contributions to AI technology.

The events concluded with a networking afterparty at White Beach at Atlantis, The Palm, emphasizing Dubai’s role as a burgeoning hub for technology and innovation. VAP Group expressed gratitude to all participants for their roles in making the event a success.
