United States: Joe Biden, the US President, is joining forces with former Democratic Presidents Barack Obama and Bill Clinton for a New York City fundraiser to boost support for his re-election campaign, featuring a lineup of celebrities.

The upcoming campaign is anticipated to raise more than $25 million, which is considered a historic amount for a single event. The drive will start with a virtual pre-program featuring Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and Bill Clinton, hosted by Biden’s campaign manager.

Following that, actress Mindy Kaling will host a programme inside Radio City Music Hall, with Queen Latifah, Lizzo, Ben Platt, Cynthia Erivo, and Lea Michele creating arrivals in front of a sold-out audience of 5,000 people. The campaign sent fundraising emails to its allies, delivering a link to watch the event virtually in exchange for a contribution.

The event will begin with a performance by First Lady Jill Biden and will culminate with an armchair conversation between Biden, Obama, and Clinton. The conversation will be moderated by late-night comedian Stephen Colbert. Tickets for the event were priced between $225 and $500,000, making it potentially the most profitable event for Democrats ever.

The campaign is organizing a fundraiser to raise a significant amount of money before the end-of-month deadline set by the Federal Election Commission. This will reveal the president’s fundraising strength. In February, the campaign, along with the Democratic National Committee and their joint fundraising committees, raised a total of $53 million.

Selected guests will get the chance to take their portrait with the three presidents by well-known photographer Annie Leibovitz. Additionally, there will be a virtual conversation with the three presidents and campaign manager Julie Chavez Rodriguez, followed by an after-party hosted by the First Lady and featuring DJ D-Nice.

This star-studded event is part of Biden’s drive for the general election, which he ramped up in the past seven months. After his State of the Union address, Biden visited battlefield states, calling it a ‘month of action.’ It is the first joint public fundraising event for Biden and Obama. The Ex-President is anticipated to partake in significant fundraising events and travel the country on behalf of Biden leading up to November.
