United States: Tesla has launched the latest versions of its Model S sedan and Model X SUV, which will be available cheaper in the US. The automaker giant aims to increase sales growth by offering shorter driving ranges.
The new models’ standard range is between $78,490 and $88,490. It is 10 percent lower than the previous lowest-priced models and is available for delivery between September and October 2023.
The new Model S provides a driving range of up to 320 miles (515 KM), which is less than the basic and performance “plaid” versions, offering up to 405 miles and 396 miles, respectively. The new Model X SUV boasts a range of up to 269 miles, significantly less than its basic and performance “plaid” versions, which offer up to 348 miles and 333 miles, respectively.
The cars featuring a pearl white exterior and an all-black interior come with the lowest price. Additional charges apply to different colours.
The company reportedly cut the price of the Model Y long-range in China. These recent developments occur as the car manufacturer prepares for the initial deliveries of its postponed Cybertruck and makes progress in constructing a plant in Mexico focused on a mass-market electric vehicle, which will serve as the foundation for a ‘robotaxi’.
