New York, UK: A spokesperson for Prince Harry and Mrs. Meghan Markle confirmed that the couple experienced a dangerous encounter with paparazzi during a car incident in New York.

New York City police, the mayor, and a taxi driver downplay the danger and duration of a reported pursuit involving Prince Harry and Mrs. Markle. Prince Harry and his wife emerged unharmed from the incident on 16th night, nearly 26 years after the fatal Paris car crash that claimed the life of Prince Harry’s mother, Princess Diana, an incident he attributes to paparazzi involvement.

Following their attendance at an awards ceremony in America’s financial capital, Prince Harry, 38, and Mrs. Markle, 41, were involved in the incident, accompanied by Mrs. Meghan’s mother, Ms. Doria Ragland. According to a source close to the couple, Mrs. Meghan and Prince Harry were reportedly pursued by a convoy of half a dozen blacked-out vehicles, driven by unidentified individuals who were allegedly driving recklessly and posing a danger to both the couple and those around them.

As per the spokesperson for the New York Police Department, the couple’s transportation was made challenging due to the presence of numerous photographers. Prince Harry has had a tumultuous relationship with the media, attributing press intrusion to the tragic death of his mother in a car crash in 1997, while she was being pursued by paparazzi in Paris.

In a recent US television interview, the Prince emotionally recounted his experience of seeing the final photos of his mother, realizing that she was photographed moments before her death. Alongside his wife Mrs. Meghan, a former American TV actress, Prince made the headline-grabbing decision to step back from their royal duties in early 2020 and relocate from the UK to the US, partly due to the intense media scrutiny they faced. Since their move to California, the younger son of King Charles III has been involved in multiple legal battles against British newspaper publishers.
