Moscow: The Russian drone attacks triggered fires at multiple industrial sites in the western region of Ryazan following a wave of Ukrainian strikes.
Authorities reported that 45 drones were shot down over the region overnight on May 27, 2026. Falling debris caused a fire in an industrial area. A residential home and another building also sustained damage. Pavel Malkov, Governor of Ryazan, stated that six people were hospitalised with injuries.
The drone attacks disrupted operations at major online retailer Wildberries. Several warehouses in the region were evacuated as a precaution. Company data and local officials indicated that at least seven warehouses were damaged in recent days. Around 10 percent of storage capacity was lost. The disruption affected thousands of small businesses relying on the platform.
Separate incidents occurred in southern Russia. In the city of Taganrog, missile debris struck an apartment building. Yury Slyusar, Regional Governor confirmed that one woman was killed and one man was injured. The city lies on the Sea of Azov and hosts industrial facilities and a grain terminal.
Fighting intensified across Ukraine. In Kherson, local authorities reported that a drone attack killed one man and injured three others. In the Dnipropetrovsk region, five people, including a child, were injured after dozens of attacks using drones, aerial bombs and artillery.
Ministry of Defence, Russia remarked that its forces targeted maritime routes. The drones struck two vessels carrying weapons and military equipment east of the port of Odesa.
Attacks on shipping routes increased in the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov. Both Russia and Ukraine expanded strikes on vessels in these areas. The escalation affected oil and grain supplies. Trade flows in the region declined, adding pressure to global markets.
The continued drone attacks reflect a widening conflict pattern. Industrial infrastructure and logistics networks remain key targets. The situation raises concerns over supply disruptions and civilian safety in affected regions.
