    Oscar winning actress Louise Fletcher dies at 88

    Actress Louise Fletcher Passed Away

    Montdurausse, France: An Academy Award winner for her outstanding performance in One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Ms. Louise Fletcher, has passed away at the age of 88.

    According to her agent, Mr. David Shaul, Ms. Fletcher passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home in Montdurausse, France, while surrounded by her family.

    Ms. Fletcher’s son Mr. Andrew Bick told the media that she passed away from natural causes. The Academy Award winner had battled breast cancer twice and prevailed.

    For the artist’s depiction of the vicious nurse Mildred Ratched in Mr. Milo Forman’s 1976 version of Mr. Ken Kesey’s 1962 novel of the same name, the actor received the Academy Award for best leading actress.

    Actress Louise Fletcher Passed Away

    Awards for best picture, best director, best leading actor, and best script were also given to the film.

    Ms. Fletcher thanked her deaf parents in American Sign Language during her wining speech that evening. The nurse turned genesis villain’s story is told in the 2020 Netflix series Ratched, which was inspired by her performance of the character in the movie.

    The actor was born on July 22, 1934 as the second of four children and was given the name Estelle Louise Fletcher. Ms. Fletcher Graduated from the University of North Carolina in acting,

    Ms. Fletcher is sometimes used as an illustration of the Oscar curse, which refers to the occurrence that winning an Academy Award for acting does not usually result in long-lasting stardom in the movies. Nevertheless, she kept up a busy career in movies and television far into her late 70s.
