United States: Twitter’s owner Mr. Elon Musk has asked the users of the social media platform to vote on his future as its chief executive officer. Mr. Musk stated that he would abide by the poll’s results.

The tech tycoon, who also owns Tesla and Space X, has faced a lot of criticisms since taking over Twitter.

We recognize that many of our users are active on other social media platforms. However, we will no longer allow free promotion of certain social media platforms on Twitter.

    Twitter Support tweeted.

The decision came as Twitter informed customers that the company would shut down accounts designed solely to promote other social media platforms.

According to the statement, the measure would also affect accounts that link off to or contain usernames from platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Mastodon, Truth Social, Tribel, Nostr, and Post.

In several follow-up tweets, Mr. Musk indicated that he is serious about leaving and made a vague threat about Twitter’s future if he is voted out.

Former Twitter boss Mr. Jack Dorsey commented on a Twitter post that the new decision of the company “doesn’t make sense.”

The CEO of the company has frequently changed Twitter’s rules with no notice, banning people who violate the new rules, including several tech journalists and an account that tracked his jet.

The new boss took over the position in the company in October 2022, in a $44 billion deal after a major legal battle.

Since buying Twitter, Mr. Musk has always been involved in one controversy or another.
