Alibaba Group has launched a new artificial intelligence platform for enterprises, intensifying competition in China’s rapidly evolving AI agent market following the surge in popularity of OpenClaw across the country’s tech sector.

The platform, called Wukong AI Platform, is designed to orchestrate multiple AI agents within a single interface, enabling businesses to automate complex workflows.

It can handle tasks such as document editing, spreadsheet updates, meeting transcription, and research, all in an integrated environment. The platform is currently available through an invitation-only beta programme.

The launch comes just a day after Alibaba announced a major reorganisation under the newly formed Alibaba Token Hub (ATH), signalling a broader company-wide push into enterprise AI agents. Wukong is the flagship product developed by the Wukong Business Unit operating within this new division.

Users can access Wukong either as a standalone desktop application or through DingTalk, Alibaba’s workplace collaboration tool that serves more than 20 million corporate users. The platform will also integrate with other major communication services, including Slack, Microsoft Teams, and WeChat, according to a company press release.

The move comes amid a surge of interest in OpenClaw, an open-source AI agent tool that has recently gained widespread traction in China, with users активно installing and experimenting with agent-based technologies.

This growing trend has prompted several major technology firms to accelerate their own AI agent offerings, even as Chinese authorities caution about potential security risks linked to such tools. Companies including ByteDance, Tencent, and AI startup Zhipu have also introduced similar platforms to compete in the expanding market.
