United states: The Twitter CEO Mr. Elon Musk has announced that he will step down as chief executive of Twitter after finding a replacement. According to the statement of Mr. Musk, he will resign the position as soon as he finds someone “foolish enough to take the job”.

Earlier, the billionaire promised to abide by the result of a twitter poll, which saw 57.5 percent of users vote “yes” to him quitting the role.

I will resign as CEO as soon as I find someone foolish enough to take the job. After that, I will just run the software and servers teams.

    Mr. Musk stated on Twitter.

This is the first time Mr. Musk mentioned stepping down as chief of the social media platform after Twitter users voted decisively in a poll for him to step down.

The Twitter owner earlier stated that there was no successor and that “no one wants the job who can actually keep Twitter alive.”

Since Twitter is a privately held company, no one can force the CEO out. However, a series of decisions over the past few days has caused disturbances in relations between Mr. Musk and some of his closest backers.

The tech tycoon has a history of using Twitter polls to make major decisions, including selling a tenth of his Tesla holdings after one poll in 2021, restoring Mr. Donald Trump’s account after a second, and reinstating a number of suspended accounts after the third poll.
