South Korea: The oldest member of the K-pop band BTS, Jin, has begun his 18-month military service at a boot camp in South Korea.

According to the statement, Dozens of fans and journalists gathered near the base, but the vehicle carrying Jin did not stop to let him out to meet them. Jin wrote on an online fan platform, Weverse, that “it’s time for a curtain call.”

Although BTS’s upper age was postponed until 2020, it was revealed in October 2022 that every member of the group will serve.

The band’s management agency has announced that the group will reconvene around 2025. The celebrities revealed in that they were taking a break to work on independent projects. BTS, which stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan, often known as Beyond The Scene, is a boyband that was founded in 2010.

They became the first Korean band to perform at Wembley Stadium in 2019, and their opening night sold out in 90 minutes. They’ve bagged many prestigious awards including the last one, the American Music Award for Artist of the Year in 2021.
