London, UK: Manchester United has recently announced that Cristiano Ronaldo is leaving English Premier League Club with immediate effect.
Manchester United stated in a brief statement that the joint decision was made a week after Ronaldo’s explosive TV interview about his dissatisfaction with the club.
“The club thanks him for his immense contribution across two spells at Old Trafford, scoring 145 goals in 346 appearances and wishes him and his family well for the future. Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on continuing the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and working together to deliver success on the pitch,” the statement continued.
Ronaldo is now with the Portugal national team in Qatar for the World Cup. Ronaldo stated that his recent statements regarding Manchester United would not affect his teammates’ concentration.
Ronaldo revealed in an interview with Piers Morgan just before the World Cup that he felt betrayed by United and had no respect for manager Manchester United Coach Ten Hag.
Ronaldo’s retirement from United comes with a cruel and dismal end to the 37-year-old’s spell at the club, where he scored just once in 10 Premier League matches this season.
Ten Hag has mostly used him as a sub, and against Tottenham Hotspur last month, he refused to play and instead walked down the tunnel with a few minutes left in the game.
This will likely be Ronaldo’s final World Cup appearance, and it is currently unknown which team will sign him for the second half of the season.
Cristiano Ronaldo is to leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect.

Ronaldo turned himself from a clever, skilled winger into one of the top players in the world when he initially joined United in 2003.
Before going to Real Madrid in 2009, he won three Premier League titles, the FA Cup, two League Cups, the Champions League, and the first of his five Ballon d’Or awards.
Ronaldo stated that, “Following conversations with Manchester United, we have mutually agreed to end our contract early.
Ronaldo’s return to United last year from Juventus was greeted with great excitement by the club’s fans. Still, his second stint at Old Trafford failed to match the success of his first, as United finished the season without any trophies.
