New York: Snoop Dogg, the iconic rapper and entertainment figure, has teamed up with the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee (USOPC) to support America’s Olympic and Paralympic athletes outside of competition. Dogg announced his new role on LinkedIn under the title ‘Coach Snoop, Team USA.’
This volunteer position is focused on celebrating and encouraging US Olympians and Paralympians as they prepare for the world’s premier winter sports stage. Snoop Dogg will work alongside the extensive USOPC network of coaches, staff, medical professionals, administrators, and partners who play a role in helping Team USA athletes pursue their goals.
According to a USOPC press release, Snoop Dogg said that, “Team USA athletes are the real stars—I’m just here to cheer, uplift and maybe drop a little wisdom from the sidelines. This team represents the best of what sport can be: talent, heart, and hustle. If I can bring a little more love and motivation to that, that’s a win for me.”
Snoop Dogg previously became one of the standout personalities of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games while serving as a special correspondent for NBCUniversal, a role he will resume during the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026.
Coach Snoop’s interactions with Team USA athletes are expected to be particularly engaging in sports like snowboarding and freestyle skiing, where athletes such as Chloe Kim and Red Gerard perform creatively named tricks on massive features like the 24-foot halfpipe.
There is also anticipation around how Dogg will inspire athletes like Olympic cross-country skiing champion Jessie Diggins as she prepares for what may be her final Olympic appearance. With Snoop Dogg joining the journey to Milano Cortina 2026, the upcoming Games promise an extra dose of personality and excitement.
