Camden, New Jersey: Campbell Soup Company, the iconic brand synonymous with American comfort food, has announced it will drop ‘Soup’ from its name. The change marks a significant rebranding effort as the company aims to reflect its expanded portfolio beyond just soups.

Founded in 1869, Campbell Soup has been a staple in kitchens across the U.S., renowned for its iconic red-and-white can of soup. However, as consumer preferences evolve, the company has diversified its offerings to include snacks, beverages, and healthy meal options. The rebranding is a strategic move to signal this transformation and better align with its modern product lineup.

Campbell Soup’s new name will be unveiled in the coming months, as part of a broader marketing campaign that highlights the company’s expanded focus. The rebranding initiative includes a redesigned logo and updated packaging across its product range.

Campbell CEO Mark Clouse said that, “We will always love soup, and we’ll never take our eye off of this critical business, But today, we’re so much more than soup.”

In addition to its well-known soup line, Campbell’s portfolio features products like Goldfish crackers, Cape Cod chips, V8 juices, and Prego pasta sauces.

The decision has sparked mixed reactions. While some long-time customers express nostalgia for the classic name, others welcome the update as a reflection of the company’s evolution.

Campbells’ anticipate that Goldfish crackers will play a pivotal role in driving growth, with the brand projected, by the year 2027. The rebranding comes as part of Campbell’s broader strategy to rejuvenate its brand and capture new market opportunities in a competitive food industry.
