Los Angeles: The American Film Institute (AFI) has recently presented the 49th AFI Life Achievement Award to Nicole Kidman at a Gala Tribute held in Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre. The 46-year-old Oscar winner attended the annual occasion with her spouse Keith Urban and their daughters Sunday and Faith.
Nicole Kidman appeared simply stunning look in a custom-made gold sequin gown from Balenciaga’s Fall ’24 collection. The gorgeous costume featured a lengthy train made from the exact fabric. The award-winner accessorised her outfit with black pumps, diamond-studded earrings, and a matching bracelet. She styled her blonde hair in a side part with loose tresses framing her face from one side.
During an event, Kidman got emotional when her husband and fellow Australian, singer Keith Urban, spoke about her support during his substance abuse problems that emerged only a few months after they got married in 2006. Urban appreciated Kidman for showing him what love in action really looks like. They were sitting on a dais with their two daughters and other family members. The event night marked the first time her teenage daughters joined her on a red carpet.
Nicole Kidman expressed gratitude to every director she worked with, including Stanley Kubrick, Jane Campion, Baz Luhrmann, Sofia Coppola, Yorgos Lanthimos, Sydney Pollack, and Lars von Trier. Kidman said that, “It is a privilege to make films. And glorious to have made films and television with these storytellers who allowed me to run wild and be free and play all of these unconventional women. Thank you for making me better at my craft and giving me a place, however temporary, in this world.”
Kidman conveyed her gratefulness on social media before attending the gala where she received the Lifetime Achievement Award. She shared a video montage of her 1983 film “Bush Christmas” and noted that, “This 14-year-old girl could have never predicted all the talented people she would get to work with and the many different characters she would get to play. So excited to celebrate with so many friends and peers on Saturday with the @AmericanFilmInstitute xx.”
