Texas: Red Bull’s Formula One team principal Christian Horner has denied allegations he engaged in inappropriate behaviour with a member of the racing team. Red Bull has launched an independent investigation last week which is ongoing.
Horner has completely denied the allegations laid on him. He said that a process is currently underway and it is working now. Horner refused to comment on whether he was given an indication of when a decision would be announced, citing that it was a company matter.
According to reports, earlier this month, Horner was accused of inappropriate behaviour and that the behaviour was toward a member of Red Bull Racing. Those allegations were made by a female colleague who complained to the team’s parent company about Horner.
The reports do not disclose the name of the team member or provide details about the circumstances. Based on Red Bull’s statements, the independent investigation process already underway is being conducted by an external specialist barrister.
The company has stated that it is taking these matters very seriously and will complete the investigation as soon as possible. They said it would not be appropriate to comment further at this time.
50 years old Horner is married to Geri Halliwell, who is a former Spice Girls singer. When Horner became Red Bull team principal in 2005, he was the youngest in the Formula One team. He oversaw seven drivers’ championships and led the team to great success. Last season, the team defended its constructors’ championship title under Horner, winning the team’s sixth with six races remaining.
