London: Revolut has experienced a service outage affecting multiple banking services, leaving thousands of customers reporting difficulties making payments, accessing funds and using the app.
The British digital bank faced widespread reports of service disruptions, with outage monitoring platform Downdetector recording more than 1,500 reports shortly after 8:00 am BST. Customers reported issues accessing several features, raising concerns among users who rely on the app for everyday banking.
A Revolut spokesperson stated that multiple services were affected. The company also assured customers that their money and personal data remained safe.
According to the company’s service status page, several features were partially unavailable during the disruption. These included card payments, money transfers, ATM withdrawals and customer support services, limiting customers’ ability to carry out routine banking activities.
The outage also prompted criticism on social media, where users expressed frustration over being unable to access their funds, complete payments or contact customer support for assistance. Revolut is among the growing number of digital-first financial institutions, commonly known as neobanks, that have emerged to compete with traditional banks.
The company offers a range of financial services primarily through its mobile application, allowing customers to manage their money and make transactions digitally. According to its website, Revolut serves more than 80 million customers worldwide, making service disruptions a significant concern for users who depend on its platform for daily financial needs.
The company has apologised for the inconvenience and said it is working to restore the affected services. Customers are advised to check Revolut’s official service status updates for the latest information on the disruption and the availability of banking features.
