New York: American online video-sharing and social media platform, YouTube is testing a new AI chatbot to enhance user interaction and engagement on the platform.

In the upcoming weeks, members of YouTube Premium will have the opportunity to participate in this experiment by visiting youtube.com/new.

According to the American tech giant, the initial trial seeks to make it easier to browse through lengthy video comment sections.

When you access the comment area on your mobile device and you are a participant in this experiment, you’ll notice a new option to sort comments by “Topics”. This feature can be especially helpful for content creators to quickly engage with their audience or find inspiration for new content ideas based on the discussions.

Additionally, creators will have the ability to remove specific comment topics by deleting individual comments. Apart from the experiment of organizing comments, Google is also testing with a conversational AI tool.

According to Google’s blog post, this feature is made to provide viewers with information and recommendations related to the video they are watching, all without interrupting the playback.

As per Google, if you are taking part in the experiment, you may use the tool by tapping “Ask” under select videos and either ask questions about the video or choose from suggested prompts.

Both of these experiments aim to make users’ YouTube experience more engaging and informative. Please remember that these features are being tested on a limited basis. Over time, American YouTube Premium members with Android devices will be able to participate in these experiments.
