A video widely circulating on social media, especially shared by ‘Iranian, Hezbollah Fans’ claims that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was fleeing an Iranian missile attack. However, investigations have confirmed that this viral video, seen by millions, is entirely false.
The footage indeed shows Netanyahu running, with the claim that he was escaping an Iranian missile attack. However, using keyframes from the video for a Google reverse image search revealed that this exact footage was previously shared with the claim that Netanyahu was fleeing in fear of a Hamas rocket attack.
Recently, Iran launched missile attacks on Israel in retaliation for the killing of key commanders of Iran and Hezbollah. However, further investigation found that the viral video actually dates back to 14 December 2021, when Netanyahu posted a humorous clip on his official X account, showing a moment during his day. The original video is still available on his X profile.

A translation of the accompanying Hebrew caption reads: “I am always proud to run for you. It was taken half an hour ago in the Knesset,” referring to Israel’s parliament. Further keyword searches led to reports by Israeli media featuring screenshots of the viral video.
The reports indicate that Netanyahu was running through the Senate hallways on a Monday to vote before a law was passed. The footage was recorded by his office staff.
Thus, it is clear that the viral video shows Netanyahu in the Israeli parliament in 2021 and has nothing to do with an Iranian missile attack. The claim that Netanyahu was fleeing an Iranian missile is misleading, and the footage is, in fact, from his own X account, shared in 2021.
