San Francisco, US: Elon Musk, the CEO of Twitter, has stated that the number of new users signing up for the Social Media site is at an “all-time high” as he struggles with a large exodus of advertisers and users moving to other platforms due to worries about verification and hate speech.
The current Head of Twitter informed followers in a tweet that signups were averaging over two million per day in the last seven days as of November 16th, which is actually 66 percent compared to the same week in 2021.
Additionally, the CEO stated that User Active Minutes have reached a record high, averaging approximately 8 billion minutes per day over the previous seven days as of November 15th, a 30 percent increase over the same week in 2016.
Hate speech impersonations decreased as of 13th November compared to October of last year.
According to Mr. Musk, the number of reported impersonations on the site increased earlier this month, both before and after the debut of Twitter Blue.
In another tweet early on 20th November, Mr. Musk stated that he sees a “path to Twitter exceeding a billion monthly users in 12 to 18 months.”
Following CEO’s decision to restore the restriction for tweets from former US President Mr. Donald Trump, activists are urging Twitter’s advertisers to make public announcements about removing their advertisements from the social media site.
