New York: Taylor Swift, the multi-talented singer, has broken a Grammy record with nomination for her song ‘Anti-Hero.’
This is Swift’s seventh nomination for the Song of the Year category, making her the first songwriter to ever achieve this feat. She overtakes Sir Paul McCartney and Lionel Richie, who have six nominations.
Swift is also nominated in the album and record of the year categories alongside Olivia Rodrigo, Miley Cyrus, and SZA. Lana Del Rey and Dua Lipa are among the other nominees for song of the year.
SZA, Jon Batiste, and Billie Eilish have also received recognition in this category. Swift’s album of the year nod for Midnights is her sixth nomination in this category and ties her with Barbra Streisand for the most nominations for a female artist.
Due to new rules, it was more difficult for artists to make the Grammys shortlist this year. The organizers have reduced the number of nominations from ten to eight in each category.
British dance and electronic producer Fred Again is one of the nominees for best new artist. Gracie Abrams, Ice Spice, Jelly Roll, Coco Jones, Noah Kahan, Victoria Monet, and War and Treaty are among the artists who have joined him in the category.
Although American rapper and singer Jelly Roll might have been around since 2005, he scored a breakout single earlier this year with Need A Favor.
Jelly Roll, with a breakthrough single, could become the oldest best new artist winner at 38, breaking Sheryl Crow’s record. The Grammy Awards this year will be held in Los Angeles on February 4, the hosts have not yet been revealed.
