United States: ChatGPT, a well-known artificial intelligence chatbot, has amassed 100 million users, just two months after its launch. According to an analysis by data firm Similarweb, it received 590 million visits from 100 million unique visitors in January 2023. The rate of growth, as per analysts at the investment firm UBS, was unheard of for a consumer app.
According to data from app analysis firm Sensor Tower Compared to Instagram, TikTok took more than two years to achieve 100 million users following its global launch. In response to text prompts, ChatGPT can produce articles, essays, jokes, poetry, and job applications. In the latter part of November 2022, Microsoft-supported private business OpenAI made it freely accessible to everyone.
OpenAI is at the forefront of generative AI, or technology trained on huge amounts of text and photos that can generate content from straightforward language input. It also invented the AI-powered image generator Dall-E. A $20 monthly subscription price was established by OpenAI, initially available to users solely in the United States. The company said that it will offer a faster, more stable service as well as the chance to test out new features in advance.
Analysts predict that the success of ChatGPT will offer OpenAI a competitive edge over rival AI firms. While increasing usage puts a strain on OpenAI’s processing resources, it has also given vital feedback that has been used to refine the chatbot’s responses. OpenAI, which is based in San Francisco, noted the subscription revenue would help cover the computing cost.
