Dhaka: Former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s sudden resignation has plunged Bangladesh into chaos. The initial unrest, driven by job reservation issues, has escalated dramatically, forcing Hasina to flee to India.
Reports indicate that she intended to travel to London but was denied political asylum by the UK. Currently, she is staying at the Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad, India, and may seek asylum in Scandinavian countries.
New intelligence reveals that the violent protests in Bangladesh were orchestrated by Hasina’s political rival, Khaleda Zia, and her party, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), with support from Pakistan’s spy agency, ISI. The BNP, allegedly backed by ISI, aimed to destabilize Hasina’s government and seize power. Additionally, there are indications of Chinese involvement through ISI.
Evidence suggests that Tarique Rahman, Khaleda Zia’s son and acting BNP chief, met with ISI representatives in Saudi Arabia to plan the unrest. The blueprint for the protests was reportedly created in London. During the protests, numerous inflammatory messages targeting Hasina’s government were circulated, with over 500 hate messages traced back to Pakistan.
The protests have led to widespread violence across Bangladesh, resulting in a military takeover. International media, citing Bangladeshi sources, report that the Islamic Chhatra Shibir (ICS), supported by ISI, played a significant role in inciting the protests. Sheikh Hasina’s future remains uncertain as she navigates this political crisis.
