United States: Google has launched a second generation of Imagen, its AI model that can generate and edit images based on text prompts.

The upgraded model called Imagen 2 is now available for special customers using Vertex AI, which is a part of Google Cloud.

Imagen 2 brings amazing features that allow people to create even better images using text. It was developed using technology from Google DeepMind, which has made the quality of the images much better than before.

In a blog post, Google stated that, “Today, we’re sharing a significant upgrade to Google Cloud’s image-generation capabilities with Imagen 2, our most advanced text-to-image technology, which is now generally available for Vertex AI customers on the allow list (i.e., approved for access).”

“Imagen 2 on Vertex AI allows our customers to customize and deploy Imagen 2 with intuitive tooling, fully-managed infrastructure, and built-in privacy and safety features. Developed using Google DeepMind technology, Imagen 2 delivers significantly improved image quality and a host of features that enable developers to create images for their specific use case,” Google added.

The model can generate emblems, letter marks, and abstract logos and overlay them onto products, clothing, business cards, and other surfaces. Additionally, Imagen 2 can now understand more descriptive prompts and provide detailed answers about elements in an image.

The new Imagen 2 also cares a lot about safety and privacy. Its unique features ensure that the images it makes follow Google’s rules about being responsible and safe. Customers who use Imagen 2 will also get extra support from Google if there are any legal problems with the pictures they make.
