California, US: American President Joe Biden has declared that “we’re gonna free Iran” after audience members appeared to ask him to speak about the ongoing demonstrations that have broken out across the Western Asian nation in response to the death of a young woman while in captivity of its security forces.

“Don’t worry, we’re gonna free Iran, They’re gonna free themselves pretty soon,” Biden stated while speaking during a campaign rally for Democratic Rep. Mike Levin.

Iranian American groups have been more critical of the Biden administration. The community has called on the White House to give up its efforts to revive the Iran nuclear deal as a result of the protests.

Since Mahsa Amini, an Iranian protester died in September after being detained by the country’s morality police, the US administration last month issued sanctions against Iranian authorities for their cruel treatment of protesters.

Additionally, the government recently struck Iran with penalties for giving drones and technical support to Russia during its conflict with Ukraine. In reaction to assaults on American personnel in the area, the country authorized U.S. military actions in August against militias supported by Iran in Syria.

In opposing the clerical authorities, many young Iranians have shown their defiance in the protests, transcending the fear that has suppressed criticism since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

The United States recently observed that it would work to have Iran removed from the 45-member U.N. Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) due to the government’s ruthless suppression of protesters and denial of women’s rights.
