London, UK: The UK Prime Minister, Mr. Rishi Sunak, has reportedly sacked Ms. Suella Braverman as home secretary. As per the report, Ms. Braverman was asked to leave the office this morning.

“It has been the greatest privilege of my life to serve as home secretary. I will have more to say in due course,” Ms. Braverman said in a statement after the sacking.

Ms. Braverman has lost the position of Home Secretary for the second time, having previously resigned from Liz Truss’s government for violating the ministerial code.

Ms. Braverman wrote a newspaper article last week in which she criticised the Metropolitan Police for allegedly “playing favorites” in their handling of a contentious pro-Palestinian march on Armistice Day.

The Prime Minister faced calls to take action when Ms. Braverman was accused of compromising operational independence and public trust in the police. Both opposition parties and Tory MPs called Ms. Braverman’s comments “offensive” and “inflamatory.”

Ms. Yvette Cooper, the Shadow Home Secretary, stated that Ms. Braverman’s actions were “highly irresponsible,” escalating tensions and making the police’s job more challenging.

Over the weekend, there were confrontations between far-right protesters and police in Westminster. Additionally, arrests occurred at pro-Palestinian marches in other locations.

In addition to Ms. Braverman being dismissed, several junior ministers also resigned from the government. Mr. Nick Gibb, who has served as a minister in the Department for Education for most of the last decade, declared his decision to step down.
