United States: Mr. Donald Trump, the former president of the US, has stated that he has “nothing more to say” in response to his decision not to testify again in his civil fraud trial in New York.

The leading candidate for the Republican nomination in the 2024 presidential contest, Mr. Trump, stated on Sunday that he did not think it was necessary to testify because he had already done so “very successfully & conclusively” last month.

“I have already testified to everything & have nothing more to say,” Mr. Trump cited in a post on his Truth Social platform.

The former president, along with members of his family and staff, are accused of inflating the value of their real estate holdings by billions of dollars to obtain better insurance and bank loan terms. On Monday, Mr. Trump was scheduled to testify, as per the statement.

Attorney for Trump, Mr. Christopher Kise, stated that there was “really nothing more to say to a judge who has placed an unconstitutional gag order and appears to have disregarded President Trump’s testimony as well as the testimony of all those involved in the intricate financial transactions at issue in this case.”

It has already been established by the office of New York Attorney General Letitia James, who filed the lawsuit, that Trump “committed years of financial fraud and unjustly enriched himself and his family.”

On November 6, during a defiant and combative appearance, Mr. Trump sparred with prosecutors for over three-quarters of an hour, during which he denied any wrongdoing and defended his wealth.
