United States: The United States’ former President Mr. Donald Trump has stated that he’s “more committed” than ever to winning back the White House, as he hit the campaign trail for the first time since announcing a third presidential bid in November 2022.
Mr. Trump visited New Hampshire, which holds the first-in-the-nation Republican primary, and South Carolina in order to shake off concerns over the lacklustre campaign and “Trump fatigue” among voters.
“We need a president who’s ready to hit the ground running on day one, and boy, am I hitting the ground,” Mr. Trump commented in the New Hampshire state Republican party’s annual meeting.
“The media said, “He is not doing rallies and he is not campaigning! Maybe he’s lost that step.” I am more angry now, and I’m more committed now than I ever was,” the ex-president stated.
Mr. Trump noted his record on law and order, immigration, and “rebuilding” the US military as he vowed to save the country from “being destroyed by a selfish, radical, corrupt political establishment.”
Speaking to around 500 people, the former president further promised to restore “election integrity” and stop an “invasion” at the southern border.
Mr. Trump is under the spotlight as he faces a judicial investigation over his handling of classified documents found in an FBI raid of his beachfront mansion in Florida, his role in the 2021 insurrection, and, in Georgia, his attempts to overturn his 2020 election defeat.
