United States: Former president Donald Trump declared that he will not engage in any further debates leading up to the 2024 election.

In a post on his social media platform, Trump aimed at Vice President Kamala Harris, mocking her for not accepting debate offers from major networks.

Trump firmly commented that, “She was a no-show at the Fox Debate, and refused to do so.” During a rally in Tucson, Arizona, Trump restated his stance to a cheering crowd. Trump claimed that, “We’ve done two debates and because they were successful, there will be no further third debate.”

Vice President Kamala Harris, presented before people at a rally in Charlotte, North Carolina, made it clear she still believes another debate is owed to voters. Harris stated that, “Two nights ago, Donald Trump and I had our first debate, and I believe we owe it to the voters to have a further debate.” Harris also addressed key issues like cost of living, reproductive rights, and national security. Without directly influencing Trump’s announcement, Harris expressed frustration, suggesting Trump had little to offer on these matters.

Harris’ running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, addressed Trump’s decision in a separate rally in Michigan. Walz stated that, “Well, it’s not going to happen, because Donald Trump firmly said today he’s not doing another one.” He playfully remarked that the last debate must have left its mark on Trump, citing his performance as a “full display” of his true character.

The debate dynamics between Trump and Harris continue to be a point of contention as the 2024 election approaches, with both campaigns making their cases to the American electorate in these critical final stages.
