United States: A student who tracks the movements of Taylor Swift’s and other celebrities’ private jets has been threatened with legal action by Swift’s attorneys.

The creator of social media accounts that record the takeoffs and landings of helicopters and planes owned by politicians, billionaires, and other public figures is Jack Sweeney.

His reports became well-known when Russia began its 2022 invasion of Ukraine because they were able to track the oligarchs’ private planes.

In November 2022, Sweeney and Elon Musk got into a public altercation regarding the tracking of the X and the Tesla owner’s private aircraft.

Swift’s attorneys have called his actions “reckless,” and the University of Central Florida student announced on Tuesday that he had received a cease and desist letter from them. Swift’s lawyers have charged Sweeney with “stalking and harassing behaviour” in the letter; however, the student’s attorneys have categorically denied this accusation.

The 34-year-old celebrity will perform at Tokyo Dome in Japan for four nights. The final performance is scheduled for Saturday night, one day prior to her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the San Francisco 49ers in the Las Vegas Super Bowl.

If Swift takes her private jet to Las Vegas, experts predict she could finish the gig and get there in time to see the game.

Swift’s use of private jets has drawn criticism for its carbon footprint, even though her representatives have previously said that she purchases carbon credits to offset the impact.
