United States: Taylor Swift’s Eras tour concert film has crossed over $100 million in advance ticket sales a week before its release. The film will be screened in 8,500 theaters worldwide.

The film could see another $100 million of box office takings in North America on its opening weekend, as per the statement. For the release, Variance Films is managing distribution in the US, Cineplex in Canada, Cinepolis in Mexico and Central America, and Trafalgar Releasing outside of North America.

AMC, the distributor, has announced that pre-sales for the movie have exceeded $100 million worldwide. They mentioned that the demand for tickets has been exceptional ever since the movie was first announced.

Tickets for the opening weekend and following weekends are now on sale. The movie will be shown from Thursday to Sunday after the initial weekend.

AMC is also set to release Beyonce’s Renaissance tour movie in December 2023. Swift’s Eras Tour, which is scheduled to continue until late 2024, is a massive cultural hit. The film will be released in cinemas in more than 100 countries on October 13, 2023.

This year, five films, including Barbie, The Super Mario Bros. Movie, and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, have earned over $100 million in their North American debuts.

In the past year, the 33-year-old singer achieved a historic milestone by placing songs in every slot of the top 10 US singles chart, a first for any artist.

In August 2023, Swift set a new record, becoming the first female artist to reach 100 million monthly listeners in Spotify’s history.
