Liverpool, UK: Loreen, the Swedish sensation, triumphs in the Eurovision Song Contest with her captivating power ballad “Tattoo,” amidst a spectacular and diverse music competition overshadowed, for the second consecutive year, by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
The sensational diva from Stockholm surpassed performers from 25 different nations to seize the title of Europe’s pop champion at the renowned competition held in Liverpool, United Kingdom. In a highly competitive showdown among the neighbouring Nordic countries, Finnish singer Käärijä clinched the second position in a closely contested battle.
Loreen, on the other hand, emerged victorious with a total of 583 points, edging out Käärijä by a narrow margin, as their scores of 526 fell just short. This result came about after the combination of votes from both the public and the jury.

Having previously triumphed in the Eurovision Song Contest back in 2012, Loreen has now accomplished a remarkable feat by becoming only the second performer in history to claim the coveted prize twice. The legendary Johnny Logan of Ireland was the sole artist to achieve this milestone in the 1980s. Moreover, Loreen’s recent victory has not only solidified her own legacy but has also propelled Sweden to an esteemed position alongside Ireland, as both nations now share the record for the highest number of wins in the competition, with an impressive tally of seven victories each.
The United Kingdom assumed the role of host for this year’s Eurovision Song Contest on behalf of Ukraine. Ukraine, the reigning champion from the previous year, unfortunately, had to forego the opportunity to organize the event due to the ongoing invasion and war with Russia.
