United States: Tom Sizemore, the actor best remembered for roles in Saving Private Ryan and The Relic, passed away at the age of 61, according to a statement from his manager. The actor went into a brain aneurysm at his Los Angeles home on February 18th 2023. Sizemore has remained in a coma in the intensive care unit.

According to his manager, the actor passed away peacefully at a hospital in Burbank, California. With his well-received roles in “Natural Born Killers” and the cult classic crime film “Heat,” Sizemore shot to fame. But serious substance dependency, abuse allegations and multiple run-ins with the law devastated his career, left him homeless and sent him to jail, as per the statement.

Sizemore, a 1961 Detroit native, rose to fame in the 1990s and 2000s for his tough-guy performances in war and action movies. In Point Break and True Romance, he played minor law enforcement parts; in the violent thriller Natural Born Killers, he played a detective; and in Heat, he played a member of a heist crew.

The detective in the horror movie The Relic, in which a ruthless monster embarks on a killing rampage in a museum, was Sizemore’s first leading role. Sizemore developed a reputation for violence and drug misuse as a result of his chaotic personal life.

The actor was found guilty of domestic abuse and making criminal threats against his then-girlfriend Heidi Fleiss in 2003, and was given a six-month jail sentence. In 2017, he was found guilty of domestic abuse again and was given three years’ probation. Sizemore was periodically detained for drug use, and in 2007 he was found guilty of methamphetamine possession and given a 16-month prison term. Between 1996 to 1999, Sizemore was wed to Maeve Quinlan and the couple had two kids.
