Russia ready to negotiate over Ukraine; Vladimir Putin

While Kiev claims it won't stop until every Russian soldier is gone from all of its land, including Crimea, which Russia annexed in 2014, the Kremlin asserts that it will fight until all of its goals are achieved.

Russia: Russian President Mr. Vladimir Putin stated that he was ready to negotiate with all parties involved in the war in Ukraine but that Kyiv and its Western backers had refused to cooperate.

The most lethal conflict in Europe since World War II and the largest standoff between Moscow and the West since the 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis were both triggered by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on 24th February 2022. The war still has a ways to go until it is over.

While Kiev claims it won’t stop until every Russian soldier is gone from all of its land, including Crimea, which Russia annexed in 2014, the Kremlin asserts that it will fight until all of its goals are achieved.

“Mr. Putin also blasted the West for trying to “tear apart” Russia, in extracts from the interview to be aired on national television later,” as per the report.

“At the core of it all is the policy of our geopolitical opponents aiming to tear apart Russia, historical Russia. They have always tried to ‘divide and conquer’… Our goal is something else — to unite the Russian people,” Mr. Putin remarked.

The Russian President has utilised the idea of “historical Russia” to support his 10-month onslaught in Ukraine by asserting that Ukrainians and Russians are one people and undermining Kyiv’s sovereignty.

“We are acting in the right direction, we are protecting our national interests, the interests of our citizen, of our people,” Mr. Putin cited.

President Mr. Joe Biden of the United States gave Ukrainian President Mr. Volodymyr Zelensky strong assurances of support on his first visit outside Ukraine since the attack started, including the Pentagon’s most cutting-edge air defence system.
