Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Interior has revealed that Qatar has trained more than 50,000 individuals to provide security during the upcoming mega event, the FIFA World Cup, with assistance from foreign forces operating under Qatari leadership.

Speaking on behalf of the Ministry, Dr. Jabr Hammoud Jabr Al Nuaimi declined to identify the nations currently involved.

The participation of forces from friendly countries with specialised skills will constitute a real addition to the security forces of the tournament and these forces will work under a unified Qatari leadership.

    Dr. Al Nuaimi remarked

3000 riot police will be offered by Turkey, who will also lead them.  Qatar has a population of 3 million, 12 percent of whom are Qataris. The country is running low on staff as it prepares for the month-long FIFA competition, which begins on November 20.

Qatar will reopen its borders to all guests, regardless of whether they have match tickets or not after the World Cup group stage concludes on December 2. Dr. Nuaimi stated that no tickets are required to apply for a “Hayya card,” which is required to enter Qatar and enter stadiums.

Furthermore, according to Yousuf Al Maslamani, a spokeswoman for the medical field, when giving medical care during the competition, doctors won’t inquire about their patients’ adulterous sex histories, religions, or any other status.

“Healthcare practitioners will only ask medical questions,” Al Maslamani shared.

The legal code of Qatar deems homosexuality and extramarital sex as crimes, and rights groups have cautioned that women may face prosecution for reporting rape or for becoming pregnant while unmarried.
