You can always tell when you visit a city that values music. Here is a list of some of the top music places for an unmatched cultural experience if you’ve been dreaming to visit some of the most famous musical sites in the world.

    PARIS

Paris is well known for a wide range of things, including its music. The city’s musical history dates back to the classical era, when some of the greatest French composers, like Saint-Saens, Debussy, and Berlioz, created their most famous symphonies.

This is true music of most major European cities as well. One of the most well-known opera houses in the world is the Palais Garnier.

Jazz, Folk, and Techno music have all gained popularity in the streets of Paris. The live music at Paris’ clubs is some of the best in all of Europe, and the ancient Caveau de la Huchette is the place to go to hear real Parisian Jazz.

    BERLIN

Berlin’s music culture is sometimes disregarded by visitors to the German metropolis due to its extensive and complicated history. Yes, the Brandenburg Gate and Museum Island should be on everyone’s plan, who comes to Berlin, but if you have some extra time, why not visit one of the city’s renowned clubs?

    VIENNA

Perhaps the world’s first music capital is Vienna. In the 18th and 19th centuries, some of the greatest composers, including Mozart, Beethoven, and Brahm, resided and worked in Vienna, which is still home to a large number of modern theatres and opera houses. The waltz musical genre was also developed in Vienna.

When visiting Vienna for music, be sure to check out the Burgtheater, Theater a der Wien, and Wiener Konzerthaus. In the summer, during informal park concerts, you can hear classical ensemble groups while visiting these old theatres.

    NEW YORK

Since the early 20th century, New York City has served as a haven for poets and creatives. From Bob Dylan to Lady Gaga, Lou Reed to Madonna, the city has hosted countless musicians who have lived and worked there.

The city has supported innumerable performers throughout the years and is a major player in the American recording industry.

Any lover of classical music must see a performance at the renowned concert hall, Carnegie Hall. If you like more contemporary music, New York is home to hundreds of smaller clubs and cafés that feature musicians from punk to hip-hop.

    LONDON

Some of the biggest pop and rock bands in the world lived, worked, and performed in the city. Bands like Led Zeppelin, The Kinks, The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, and many others are part of a long list of performers who have chosen London.

In the city, you cannot avoid the sound of music. Everywhere you turn in the city, there are traces of a well-known melody that soon have you humming along.

While strolling down Abbey Road, stop to visit Abbey Road Studios, where The Beatles created all of their albums up until 1970, and snap the obligatory photo at the zebra crossing. Fans of The Rolling Stones will also enjoy West London, which is full with memorabilia from the group’s past, including a replica of their first Chelsea house.

For anyone interested in learning about the history of the city’s popular music, Soho’s Denmark Street is the place to go, while Berwick Street is lined with independent record shops. Fans of classical music can also visit the revered Royal Albert Hall gardens or take in a ballet performance at the Royal Opera House.
