France: Brazilian footballer Neymar will sign a two-year deal with Saudi club Al Hilal. The French football club Paris Saint-Germain and Al Hilal have reached an agreement for the transfer of the international footballer.
The deal is worth approximately $98.4 million, with additional payments possible based on certain conditions. The 31-year-old player is undergoing a medical ahead of joining. PSG signed Neymar for a record $254 million in 2017 from Barcelona. According to the report, the new PSG coach, Luis Enrique, is not considering Neymar as a key player.
The Brazilian forward has played 173 times for PSG and contributed to their success with 13 trophies, including five Ligue 1 titles. The player also helped them reach the 2020 Champions League final. Neymar has faced many ankle injuries and had many surgeries. That caused him to miss the rest of the season.
During the 2022 World Cup, the former Barcelona player couldn’t participate in two of Brazil’s matches due to an injury sustained in their first group game. He also had to skip the 2019 Copa America due to torn ligaments in his right ankle, and in 2021, he faced several weeks of absence due to a similar injury.
Al Hilal had tried to sign Messi and Mbappe this summer. However, Messi chose to join Inter Miami, and Mbappe is reportedly to say in PSG.
In the previous month, PSG granted Al-Hilal permission to talk with Mbappe following a record-breaking £259 million bid from the Saudi team.
