France: Kylian Mbappe has signed a five-year contract with Real Madrid as a free agent. The Spanish and European champions said, “Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid C F have reached an agreement whereby he will be a Real Madrid player for the next five seasons.”
Not long after the club statement, Mbappe posted pictures of himself as a child wearing a Real Madrid uniform and seeing Cristiano Ronaldo on social media.
“A dream come true. So happy and proud to join the club of my dream @realmadrid. Nobody can understand how excited I am right now. Can’t wait to see you, Madridistas, and thanks for your unbelievable support. Hala Madrid!,” he wrote.
On May 10, the 25-year-old French national team captain revealed in a video that he was leaving Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on the social networking platform X.
After his PSG contract expires on June 30, Mbappe will go to Real Madrid in July. However, the striker will first be unveiled before he joins the France team for the European Championship in Germany.
Mbappe joins a highly talented team in Madrid that includes five-time Champions League champion Vinicius Jr. and Jude Bellingham, two favorites for the Ballon d’Or. The team is coached by Italian Carlo Ancelotti.
Even though Mbappe frequently completed domestic doubles and trebles while winning multiple trophies at PSG, the Champions League is still the one big award missing from his impressive résumé.
After seven years at PSG, where he won four French Cups, six Ligue 1 crowns, and ended his tenure in the nation’s capital as the team’s all-time best scorer with 256 goals, Mbappe is leaving the team.
