London: King Charles and Princess Kate of Wales have been discharged from the London Clinic, a private hospital where they were receiving treatment. Both returned to their homes yesterday after their respective treatments.
King Charles was admitted to the hospital for prostate treatment. After spending three nights in the hospital, he completed his treatment procedures and returned to the palace, happily waving and smiling at journalists as he departed in a car with his wife, Camilla.
Buckingham Palace sources have announced that the King will be avoiding public engagements for some time. Typically, a period of four to six weeks of rest is recommended after such surgical procedures. A team of expert doctors led by Consultant Urological Surgeon Rick Popert treated the King.
Princess Kate returned to Windsor Castle yesterday morning after a 13-day hospital stay. She was admitted for abdominal surgery, but no specific details have been officially released regarding her condition.
Since Christmas, Kate has been absent from public engagements. Her trips to and from the hospital, both for admission and discharge, were made without any interaction with the media.
