London, UK: King Charles III has shared a message and released a photo of Queen Elizabeth II to commemorate the one-year anniversary of her passing.

In his message, the King mentioned that he remembered the late Queen’s “devoted service and all she meant to so many of us.” The King picked a photograph that features a youthful Queen, who was 42 years old at the time, during an official portrait session in 1968.

Elizabeth II passed away at the age of 96 in Balmoral Castle on September 8, 2022. This occurred just a few months after she celebrated her platinum jubilee, marking her 70 years as the reigning monarch.

The King expressed his gratitude to the nation for the “love and support” the people extended to him and Queen Camilla during their initial year as rulers.

“In marking the first anniversary of Her late Majesty’s death and my accession, we recall with great affection her long life, devoted service, and all she meant to so many of us,” the King said.

“I am deeply grateful, too, for the love and support that has been shown to my wife and myself during this year as we do our utmost to be of service to you all,” King Charles added.

The written message that comes with the audio recording is signed by Charles R. The King, and Queen Camilla will go to Crathie Kirk Church nearby for private memorial prayers, as per the statement.

The Prince and Princess of Wales, who are in West Wales for a visit, will remember the late Queen with a small private service at St. Davids Cathedral.
