North Korea: North Korea’s Mr. Kim Jong Un presided over a significant military display that featured a record number of nuclear and intercontinental ballistic missiles, possibly including a brand-new solid-fueled ICBM, as per analysts.

The troops in uniform marched in unison to spell out “2.8” and “75” as part of the parade honouring the 75th founding anniversary of the nation’s armed forces. Mr. Kim Il Sung, the founder of North Korea, favoured the black coat and fedora combo, and he wore it while attending the parade on February 8 with his wife Ms. Ri Sol Ju and daughter Ms. Ju Ae, as evidenced by images from official media.

Images showed the supreme leader saluting as troops and missile units passed by in Pyongyang’s central Kim Il Sung Square while standing flanked by his top generals. At least ten of the nation’s largest Hwasong-17 ICBMs were on display, along with vehicles that appeared to be built to transport an ICBM with solid fuel, according to the Seoul-based specialised site NK News.

Long sought after by North Korea, a solid-fuel ICBM might help make its nuclear weapons more difficult to find and destroy. The cheering was heard from onlookers when the ICBMs appeared in the square and a “tactical nuclear operation unit” was included in the display.

To commemorate significant occasions and holidays, North Korea has military parades, which are keenly watched by outsiders for signs of the development of its prohibited missile and nuclear weapons. As per analysts, the size and variety of the weaponry on exhibit demonstrated advancements that posed a threat to the United States.
