London: The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton has released a new portrait and an inspiring message, taken by her six-year-old son, Prince Louis, ahead of World Cancer Day.
The photo captures Kate standing on a fallen tree trunk in the woods, arms open as she looks towards the camera.
In a message shared alongside the image, Kate included a quote that, “Don’t forget to nurture all that which lies beyond the disease.” This comes after she announced in January that she is in remission following a cancer diagnosis last year.
Kate has been gradually resuming her royal duties after completing preventative chemotherapy, which she underwent following major abdominal surgery in January 2024.
Kate carried out three public engagements last week, including a visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital, where she expressed her gratitude to the medical staff for their care over the past year.
The princess has also recently taken on a new role as patron of Ty Hafan Children’s Hospice, making a solo visit to the facility near Cardiff on January 30.
In addition, reports suggest that Kate wishes to shift public attention from her outfits to the causes she supports. A Kensington Palace source said that while there will always be public appreciation for her style, official details of her fashion choices will no longer be released for royal appearances.
Kate’s return to public life comes as she continues to focus on health-related initiatives and charitable work, emphasizing the importance of substance over style.
