Days after the trailer for Mr. Johnny Depp and Ms. Amber Heard’s upcoming documentary, Johnny vs Amber: The US Trial, has been released, Hot Take: The Depp/Heard movie is being rushed for release on streaming platform Tubi, according to a new report.

Fox-owned streaming service Tubi will screen the film for free in countries including the US, Australia and New Zealand from September 30 while it will remain unavailable in the UK or EU.

In a trial that ended in June, Mr. Johnny sued ex-wife for defamation over a 2018 op-ed Ms. Heard wrote for The Washington Post. Mr. Johnny and Ms. Amber got married in 2015 at their home in Los Angeles after almost three years of dating.

In May 2016, Ms. Amber filed for divorce from Mr. Johnny and obtained a temporary restraining order against him. Ms. Heard said Mr. Johnny had physically abused during their relationship, often while high on drugs or alcohol.

Ms. Melissa Marty will join Mr. Mark Hapka, who represents Mr. Depp, and Davis, play the role of Ms. Heard, as Depp’s lawyer Camille Vasquez and Ms. Mary Carrig will portray Ms. Heard’s lawyer, Ms. Elaine Bredehoft.

Hot Take follows the tumultuous relationship of Mr. Depp and Ms. Heard, in and out of court. The film is produced by Ms. Autumn Federici and Mr. Kristifor Cvjetic under their Ninth House banner.

Many social media users reacted to the news of Hot Take: The Depp/Heard Trial’s imminent release, with some expressing their displeasure.
