New Zealand: The New Zealand Prime Minister Ms. Jacinda Ardern has announced the auctioning off of an official signed copy of the transcript of the Prime Minister calling a political opponent an “arrogant prick” to raise money for a prostate cancer charity.

Bidding for a framed copy of the document, signed by the Prime Minister and the political rival Mr. David Seymour, leader of the libertarian right Act party, had reached $29,000 in an online auction.

The Prime Minister’s candid comment, “he’s such an arrogant prick,” was caught on a hot mic during parliamentary question time.

Mr. Seymour demanded the speaker of New Zealand’s parliament for an apology from Ms. Ardern, which also meant her comment was entered into the official record, known as the Hansard.

Ms. Ardern later texted an apology to Mr. Seymour, who then proposed the idea of joining forces to raise money for charity.

The New Zealand Prime Minister posted in Facebook that she had signed the official transcript with Seymour “in the spirit of good sportsmanship and a good cause”.

The leader of the Libertarian Right Act party commented that the insult “was not significant in terms of the stuff that goes on, people were surprised as it’s so out of character” for Ardern.

Mr. Seymour added that he hoped the signed document would go “for a lot of money. It’s a pretty unusual occurrence and a good cause”.

The auction, titled “Ardern, Seymour join forces for pricks everywhere”, ends on December 22.
