Syria: The Iraqi groups have launched several rockets from Zummar toward a US military base in northern Syria. United States battalions since early February when Iranian-backed forces in Iraq concluded a movement of frequent attacks against the US-led international association.
The aggressiveness continued a day after Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani came back from a visit to the United States where he met with President Joe Biden. As per a post on a Telegram group linked with Kataib Hezbollah, the armed coalitions in Iraq are determined to restart invasions after a three-month break due to the lack of advancement in negotiations to conclude the US-led army collaboration in the country.
Kataib Hezbollah renounced publishing any information concerning the resumption of strikes on US forces, dubbing the previous statement ‘fake news.’ The Iraqi security forces released a statement charging lawbreaker aspects of launching rockets towards a base of the global alliance located in Syria.
The incident ensued in the northern Nineveh region, prompting Iraqi forces to embark on a prominent quest function to locate the vehicle utilised in the foray. The reports stated that, more than five rockets were fired from Iraq towards an alliance base in Rmelan, Syria.
However, no US troop members were wounded during the strike. Officials referred to the raid as a ‘failed rocket attack,’ but it is unclear if the rockets failed to strike the base or were eradicated before they reached it. It is also unsure if the base was the intended mark.
According to statements of two security authorities and a senior military officer in Iraq, a small truck with a rocket launcher affixed to the back was located parked in Zummar, a town situated on the border with Syria. The administrations conquered the truck and captured it for additional inquiry.
