Houston: The White House has affirmed the strengthening of the partnership between India and the United States, following a high-level meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Joe Biden. The discussions centred on the progress made in the bilateral relationship, with both leaders emphasising its importance in the current global context.
A White House press statement noted that President Biden takes pride in the deepening ties between the two nations under his administration. Analysts have pointed to the significance of Biden hosting Modi at his personal residence, signalling a close rapport and mutual respect between the two leaders.
John Kirby, the National Security Communications Advisor, highlighted the India-US relationship’s robust and continually growing nature. He underscored the importance of bolstering these ties, particularly regarding strategic interests.
Discussions between the two leaders also covered key issues such as the Indo-Pacific region and broader international and regional matters. Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the United States was marked by his participation in the Quad Summit in Wilmington, chaired by President Biden, and spanned three days.
