Israel: Hezbollah, the armed group based in Lebanon, has taken responsibility for an attack on a military facility in northern Israel. The attack caused injuries to at least 14 soldiers.
The Lebanese armed group claims that the attack was carried out in response to Israeli strikes that killed members of it. The Iran-aligned group stated that it projected the raid operating directed missiles and explosive drones on a new military surveillance and control base in Arab al-Aramshe, which is an Arab-majority village located in northern Israel near the Lebanese border.
The recent attack in Israel caused 14 combatants to be injured, with six of them in severe condition. The Israeli military declared that they targeted the source of the fire. Later, Israeli fighter jets attacked Hezbollah’s terrorist infrastructure in eastern Lebanon.
This occurred a day after Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon which killed three people. Among those killed was a Hezbollah field commander, recognised by the Israeli military as Ismail Yusaf Baz.
Israel reportedly killed two local Hezbollah commanders and another operative, while the group claimed three of its members were killed. In an earlier strike in Lebanon, three people were also injured, according to Israeli authorities.
In the first such invasion in six months of clashes, Hezbollah detonated explosive devices on Israeli soldiers crossing into Lebanese territory. According to Hamas’ ally, the explosives were placed in southern Lebanon’s Tel Ismail district by its fighters.
In similarity to the Gaza war, Israel and Hezbollah swapped conflagrations for more than six months in their most severe executions since 2006. Following Iran’s weekend invasion of Israel with drones, cruise missiles, and ballistic missiles, concerns about further escalation keep rising.
