New York: Google has launched the Pixel 10 lineup, including the Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro Fold, each powered by the new Tensor G5 chip. The highlight is Gemini’s Magic Cue feature, which allows the chatbot to anticipate what information a user may need and surface it at the right moment.
Magic Cue works by scanning through personal data stored on apps such as Gmail, Calendar and Maps to deliver contextual assistance. For instance, when a user dials an airline, their booking details appear in the phone app automatically. Similarly, if a friend messages about Sunday brunch, Gemini suggests suitable cafes while also checking availability in the calendar.
Leo Gebbie, principal analyst at CCS Insight, stated that Google is ‘arguably positioning on-device AI more effectively than any of its rivals’ and described Magic Cue as an early step towards advanced agentic AI on smartphones. Gebbie added that Google benefits from Android users’ pre-populated apps, enabling the company to connect personal data more effectively than before.

The Pixel 10 comes with a 6.3-inch OLED display and an upgraded camera system that now includes three lenses, featuring a 10.8-megapixel 5x telephoto camera. The Pixel 10 Pro is available in two sizes, 6.3-inch and 6.8-inch, with a 48MP telephoto lens supporting up to 10x optical zoom.
Meanwhile, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold has achieved IP68 water and dust resistance, addressing durability concerns around foldable devices, and features a camera system similar to the Pixel 10.
Beyond hardware, Google has enhanced AI-powered photography tools. The new Camera Coach uses AI servers to analyse scenes in real time, offering guidance on framing, angles and lighting to help users capture improved photos. With its latest devices, Google has positioned the Pixel 10 series as a major leap towards personalised, on-device AI experiences.
