France: Mr. Emmanuel Macron, the French President, has told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the importance of establishing an immediate humanitarian truce leading to a ceasefire. During a phone call with Mr. Netanyahu, the President also said there were “too many civilian losses” in Gaza.

The French president reminded Mr. Netanyahu of the “absolute necessity to distinguish terrorists from the population” and “the importance of achieving an immediate humanitarian truce leading to a ceasefire.” Mr. Macron announced new humanitarian assistance for the Gaza people.

Israel stated that it wants to destroy the Palestinian armed group Hamas, which killed about 1200 people in an attack on October 7, 2023. The President of France has repeated his solidarity with Israel in this attack.

In a statement, Mr. Macron expressed to the Israeli Prime Minister his great concern regarding the increase in violence against Palestinian civilians in the West Bank and condemned it.

According to the United Nations, more than 13,000 people in Gaza have been killed. 70 percent of them are women and children. Israel has been attacking hospitals, schools, and refugee camps.

The president said that France will send an aircraft carrying over 10 tonnes of medical supplies early in the week. Additionally, France will also support European Union medical aid flights on November 23rd and 30th.

“France is mobilising all its available means to contribute to the evacuation of wounded and sick children requiring emergency care from the Gaza Strip to its hospitals,” as per the statement.

“I have decided to charter a new aircraft from the Air Force that will transport over 10 tonnes of medical supplies early next week,” Mr. Macron stated.

In a post on X, Mr. Macron mentioned that France is tirelessly working to release “all hostages, especially our 8 French compatriots.”
